      Hi MotSmart,

I want to try the tinyMCE RTL, but first I want to check something - Can I just replace my current (default) TinyMCE with this one? I don’t need to worry about potential problems with the texts in the database or anything? So far I have Hebrew texts that I entered using the LTR TinyMCE, and I want to make sure nothing unusual will happen to them.

      Thanks.

This package only works when you have TinyMCE 2.0.2 ver#2.1.2 installed on you MODx site which means this package should be replaced with the existing TinyMCE to work, FYI: basically you can have TinyMCE installed at the time you install/upgrade MODx by MODx installer.
No matter what you have used to store any content to db, it won’t be affected by the TinyMCE files Replacement for sure but the first rule of every change in digits world is to backup?! :-]

ok. Yes, for sure I will back up. I have TinyMCE 2.1.2 installed by default with MODx - so first I have to get the files for 2.0.2, and then your RTL files, right?

Oh sorry!, i meant to say 2.1.2, the TinyMCE version shipped by MODx0.9.6.1p1/p2 is 2.1.2, just replace the RTL package with the existing TinyMCE and it should be fine.

              Hi again,

I have realised that the unusual behavior I had with TinyMCE was not at all related to the rtl issue, but because of my having "min-width" in my css bigger than the TinyMCE edit window in MODx. rolleyes

Now that I solved that, I don’t seem to have *any* issues with the standard TinyMCE and my right-to-left language, Hebrew. smiley

So, what benefits *does* the RTL-TinyMCE have over the standard one? I just want to work out why I would need to use the RTL version for Hebrew sites.

              Thanks.

This package in the first place has resolved a charset problem for Persian language files (files being displayed as question marks) & secondly it has many right to left directional & alignment adjustments that TinyMCE#2.1.2 doesn’t seem to have by default.
