Hi, I will try again with these:

    1) in TinyMCE I lost the "browse" button in the "Add Image" window, is there a way to have the access to the file/image browser within the Add Image window of TinyMCE?

    2) I think there are too many places where we can configure TinyMCE, namely: Tools/Configuration, Security/Users and the Plugin Configuration... I think this is confusing

    3) though I can change all the settings, it seems that the plugin doesnt want to use the Theme option: it appears that in Tools/Configuration it isn’t saved (saving and reopening the page will show always the Simple theme), and the user configuration doesn’t ovverride it

    4) I would like to have these tags in my page, how can I have using TinyMCE?
    <pre class="prettyprint"> ... </pre>
    <a href="..." rel="lightbox"><img src="..."></a>

and I don’t want TinyMCE to "tidy" the content of the <pre> tag, namely, not to delete all "unnecessary" spaces

Sorry about the delay on answering your questions. I’m at work right now and just don’t have the time to dig into this. Let me get home and work on answering your questions for you when I have more time. One thing I will mention is...you’re right...some of the configuration stuff is confusing unless it’s all explained to you. I tried to answer alot of this on the wiki (http://wiki.modxcms.com/index.php/TinyMCE). Based on your questions, I’ll probably add more in to help clarify things.

      More to come...

I too would agree that at first it’s confusing trying to figure out where’s the proper place to change the configuration settings. And I’m also experiencing the same difficulties trying to change the toolbar theme from Simple to Advanced. It just doesn’t seem to work no matter what I try.

So it turns out that the "advanced" theme isn’t what I thought it was. I was expecting it to set TinyMCE’s theme setting to advanced, but apparently you have to select the "custom" theme for that...
