TinyMCE doesn't add styles to link

I’ve set up TinyMCE to display a class in the class drop down box when adding a link. I select the class in the drop down and click insert to add the link. The text is linked but the class tag isn’t added to the href?

So I’m having trouble with adding classes to images as well. I have the class name show up in the dropdown in the image popout window and it shows up in the styles drop down in tool bar next to the format drop down. But the style isn’t added to the image tag instead it says "undefined". I’m going to need this addressed, any help appreciated.

Maybe turn off the option for clean up in the Tiny config? (just a guess... not sure by any stretch)
