tinymce not saving edits from within manager

modx 1.0.2
tinymce 3.2.4.1

attempting to edit page content from within manager. make the change, select save and get a warning about leaving the page without saving the changes. switch to no editor and saves fine. changes to longtitle/menu name/description save without issue. changes from the front end edit resources also works (using tinymce). moved from another server where it worked fine.

reinstalling tinymce did not resolve the issue.
