Hey all,
The more I (and clients) use TinyMCE, the more I start looking for other RTEs... It’s not bad, but it is too complicated and there are just too many ways for clients to mess up with it. I’ve tried to configure it to make it easier, but to no avail.
I’ve seen someone saying they just teach their clients to use HTML markup, however for the segment we’re serving that is no option.
So here’s to you all: what RTEs have you witnessed/used before?
- TinyMCE: too many options. Configurable, but seems to bloat users.
- Xinha: looks alright. Would love to hear what people think about this one?
- XStandard: especially the pro version looks promising. Anyone ever used it?
- (F)CKEditor: will be trying this one soon. From a quick google this is probably the neatest one I’ve seen.
AFAIR there’s been a lot of discussion on RTEs, which all led to... nowhere? I wish I was more of a programmer than I am, to be able to do it myself.
I will add WYMEditor to your list, which is *
what I want*. A quick search on it revealed it was approached in its early days but never (?) actually provided. So, to anyone who is capable and interested:
Please, be so kind and provide WYMEditor extra for Revolution!
Thank you in advance
This is the web: the only thing you know about who will come is that you don't know who will come.

Thanks for adding that. Looks clean, but it seems to make a list of containers / classes to use. I’;m not much of a fan of things like that, as I don’t want clients to mess with containers.
I’ve decided that TinyMCE is usable when getting rid of MCPUK - instead using the KCFinder plugin (

That makes a few options way more usable.
And skipping all the buttons except the ones that are used helps.
Any other RTEs?
