I’m a bit confused about the latest version of YAMS. The YAMS extras page for 1.0.5-beta is marked with the "version deprecated" message but i can’t find anything newer. What’s the latest on 1.1.7? Is it still in Alpha?

The latest version submitted to the MODx repository is 1.1.7 alpha RC7. For some reason however it appears on the ’Previous Releases’ tab. I did contact MODx about this but got no response. The development version of YAMS can now be obtained via SVN from
svn://nashi.podzone.org/yams/trunk
This contains the latest bug fixes described on the
known bugs page.
