    And another feature.
    then try request domain.com/en/ - result ok.
    then try request domain.com/en - result 404.

    I think.. in "howto" need add rules to avoid this problem...
    either "Rewrite "... or autolink in modx...
    Yes. The following rewrite rule
    RedirectMatch permanent ^/en$ http://my.domain.com/en/

    Actually PMS, SEO Strict URLs solves all of these URL variations in a simple way when installed. It is not currently working with YAMS (quite a few pages page now, I had to disable my SEO Strict URLs plug to start working with YAMS on my current site).

    Future support of SEO Strict URLs plugin would be great, because it closes all potential dup. content issues in MODx, and makes sure that variations such as above redirect to a canonical URL structure.

      This error doesn’t go away, even after fixing permissions in /assets/modules/yams/ :

      Could not add language with lang id "nl"

      I’m using Evolution 1.0.0 and YAMS 1.05 beta

      My installation is installed on localhost. http://localhost/modxtestcase/

      I’m driving nuts on this.
      Can somebody help me. I have to create 3 multilingual sites this week.

      I’ll need more information to be able to help you. Please can you specify how you are trying to configure the new nl language? I will need to know every setting for the new language (server name, root name, etc.) in the state that it is on the form just before you hit the add button and get the error.

      Thanks.

        YAMS 1.1.5 alpha is finally here. A lot of effort has gone into improving performance and stability with this version. This should be very noticeable for sites with lots of large Ditto and Wayfinder calls.

        Here are the most important things to note about this version:
        - YAMS no longer needs to be active on the OnWebPageComplete event.
        - If using the PHx plugin it may be necessary to edit the plugin and change the include line to
        if ( ! class_exists( 'PHxParser' ) )
        {
         include_once $modx->config['rb_base_dir'] . "plugins/phx/phx.parser.class.inc.php";
        }

        to avoid PHP complaining that the PHxParser class has already been defined.
        - There is now a special placeholder ((yams_data:docid:tvname)) that will grab the content of a template variable from a given document. This is designed for internal use by YAMS, but if you wanted to use lots of them in place of something like the GetField snippet then it should be safe and efficient to do so. YAMS will analyse the document for such placeholders and evaluate them in such a way as to minimise the number of mysql queries required.
        - The [[YAMS? &get=`content` ... ]] snippet call is now deprecated and may be removed in a future version. It has now been replaced by an equivalent [[YAMS? &get=`data` ... ]] snippet call which uses the new ((yams_data)) placeholder. The Ditto extension and Wayfinder templates have been updated to use the new snippet call and placeholder too.
        - Also modified the YAMS-ified breadcrumbs snippet so that it works more efficiently using the new ((yams_data)) placeholder.
        - The server config has been updated. It is no longer necessary to include the yams_lang query param. There are also instructions for performing permanent redirects from mysite.com/root to mysite.com/root/
        - It is now possible to use YAMS placeholders in the parameters of cacheable snippet calls. So, [[Ditto? &language=`(yams_mname)` ... is allowed.
        - The bug which would cause Ditto/eForm etc. to claim that they can’t find the language file has been fixed.
        - It is no longer necessary for the monolingual server name to be different to the multilingual server names when in server name mode. So:

        http://www.mysite.com/ - monolingual
        http://www.mysite.com/ - english (default)
        http://de.mysite.com/ - german

        is possible.
        - It is now possible for one of the root names to be empty when in root name mode. So, the following is allowed:

        http://www.mysite.com/ - monolingual
        http://www.mysite.com/ - english (default)
        http://www.mysite.com/de/ - german

          I entered the settings manually in yams.config.inc.php and everything runs fine. PHP 5.2.5 is installed on my MAMP localhost-configuration. Don’t know if this is the cause.

          I filled in the following in the backend (which fails to save the settings):
          Server name: (localhost)
          Site URL: (http://localhost/modxtestcase)
          Lang id: nl
          Tags: nl
          Server name: (localhost)
          Root name: nl
          Site URL: (http://localhost/modxtestcase/nl/)
          Language direction: ltr
          MODx language name: nederlands-utf8
          Select language text: Kies een taal
          Name for en: (Engels)
          Name for fr: (Frans)
          Name for nl: Nederlands

          It would be great if I could save my settings in the manager.

          Anyway, you made a great YAMS module/plugin!

            You can now. Just upgrade to the latest version, currently YAMS 1.1.5 alpha. YAMS only started accepting server names of the form: *localhost from version 1.1.0 alpha.

              YAMS 1.1.6 alpha RC1 is now available for download. This corrects a couple of bugs in YAMS 1.1.5 alpha, one of which could cause a document to become corrupted when being loaded from cache. As a result of the bug fix, the YAMS plugin needs to be active on OnLoadWebPageCache with this version.

              YAMS 1.1.6 alpha is now available for download. New in this version...

              - Added SEO Strict style URL functionality. YAMS will now permanent redirect
              to the correct URL when
              * slashes are incorrectly specified (multiple slashes or missing trailing slash)
              * the prefix and suffix of a filename are missed
              * the prefix and suffix are included for a folder
              In addition, there is now a new option that allows the re-writing of containers
              as folders: .../mycontainer.html -> .../mycontainer/
              Currently there is no facility for overriding this on a document by document
              basis.

              - Introduced a new redirection mode: "current else browser". When redirecting to
              a multilingual page, if the site has been visited previously and a language
              cookie has been saved, the visitor will be redirected to a page in that language.
              Otherwise they will be redirected to a page based on their browser settings.

                  Just a quick note to say that there have been a couple of reports of 404s not found problems when using subfolders and friendly URL paths and YAMS 1.1.6 alpha. This is on the top of my priority list - but I am unlikely to have the time to look at it until Thursday or Friday. If you are using friendly alias paths but haven’t upgraded yet, then it is probably best to hold on until I have released a patch towards the end of the week.

                  EDIT: Just had a report that YAMS 1.1.6 alpha RC1 still works. This is therefore a problem with the new SEO friendly stuff I introduced in YAMS 1.1.6. (Turns out it’s not so friendly...) So, a workaround is to downgrade to YAMS 1.1.6 alpha RC1 until I have fixed it.

                    French Fries.

                    I guess you solved it because your post has disappeared, but in case anyone else experiences something similar: When you create a new template it is, by default, monolingual. You have to go to Modules > YAMS > Multilingual Templates in order to specify the new template as multilingual.

                      YAMS 1.1.7 alpha RC1 is now available for download. This version includes a fix for the bug introduced with the SEO friendly URLs that would cause 404 not found errors when using friendly alias paths and sub-documents.
