Yes. That is normal for the time being I’m afraid. I started and almost completed modifying the YAMS plugin so that it would auto-generate aliases when new documents are created last week - but then I got distracted by performance enhancements (which are now very near completion). If auto-generation of aliases isn’t in the next release, it certainly will be in the release after that.

Perhaps array_merge is not working quite as I expected with regards to ordering of array elements. Please can you try replacing line 113 of yams.mm_rules.inc.php

    $tvString = implode( ',', array_merge( $standardTVs, $customTVs ) );

with

    $tvString = implode( ',', $standardTVs );
    if ( count( $customTVs ) > 0 )
    {
      $tvString .= ',' . implode( ',', $customTVs );
    }

to see if that fixes the problem?

Untested: Try editing the breadcrumbs snippet and changing the following line (it’s the only one with makeUrl in it)

        $pretemplateCrumb .= '<a class="'.$crumbClass.'" href="'.$modx->makeUrl($c['id']).'" title="'.$title.'">'.$text.'</a>';

to be

        $pretemplateCrumb .= '<a class="'.$crumbClass.'" href="(yams_docr:'.$c['id'].')" title="'.$title.'">'.$text.'</a>';

Then, rather than outputting a standard non-multilingual URL, breadcrumbs will output a YAMS placeholder that should include the correct multilingual URL. All you have to do is include the [[Breadcrumbs]] snippet call in your document template like normal. If you are not using weblinks, then you can use (yams_doc: insteady of (yams_docr: for efficiency.

changed and didn’t helped.

About BreadCrumbs in previous post. I changed like you said and it helped with URLs but how to change LinkText to be multilingual?

Thanks for YAMS, it is working great on a site I launched for a client yesterday: http://www.athene-prosjekt.no/

I only have one problem. The site is in two languages, Norwegian and English, with Norwegian as the default one. "Redirection Mode" is set to "Current". First time visitors get redirected to the english version, but should get the default Norwegian version. How can I fix this?

Yes. Of course you’re right. The text needs to be multilingual as well. If all pages are multilingual, then updating the Breadcrumbs snippet should be fairly straightforward. If some documents in the breadcrumb trail are and some aren’t then it gets a little more tricky, but I’m sure it’s still doable. I’m a bit overloaded at the moment though. I might not be able to look at this until the weekend now I’m afraid.

Nice site. I see the problem. Which version of YAMS are you using?

I found a problem by the way. If you search for, say, ’project’, then the results get inserted into document in the wrong place at the top of the page.

EDIT: I haven’t tried this before, but if you haven’t done so already then you might want to configure your different language AjaxSearch snippet calls to only search in the multilingual tvs corresponding to that language. Something like:

... &withTvs=`+pagetitle_en,longtitle_en,introtext_en,description_en,content_en,alias_en,menutitle_en`...

on the English variant, and similarly for your other language variants.

I have all things working perfectly now, but I only have one problem left.
I don’t get the domains like I want them, this is what happens:

domain.com -> www.domain.com
www.domain.com -> www.domain.com
domain.nl -> www.domain.com
www.domain.nl -> www.domain.nl

So "domain.nl" without "www" goes to the default language and redirects to "www.domain.com". How can I arrange to redirect it to www.domain.nl so that it gives the dutch language pages?

So you have www.domain.com set up as your default language and www.domain.nl as a second language and presumably there is a mono URL too. Any request accepted by your server that doesn’t match either of those will get redirected to either default language or the current language etc. depending on your redirection settings. In this case domain.nl is not recognised and is being redirected to your default language www.domain.com.

I think you should be able to get what you want by using your .htaccess to rewrite domain.nl as www.domain.nl before any friendly URL stuff.

I already tried that, but it didn’t work! I just did check it again and saw I made a typo. It’s working great now
