Hi
I have installed modx and been playing with it for a few weeks now.
I have set up several users to let them have a play around but have discovered that if one person is editing a document the system still allows the 2nd person to edit that document at the same time leading to a potential mess... am I doing something wrong or is there a bug?
MODx has the facility to prevent 2 users to edit the document same time, but there is a Remove Locks menu item to remove all locks placed.
Also, please let us know what browser are you using ?
For me, its working fine.
regards,
zi
I’m using Avant browser (based on IE engine) and the other user was on IE 6.

Are they logged in under the same name? Silly question, I know... :/

Nope, different usernames (both with the same role). What message should the second person be getting when another person is already in edit mode for a document when they try to edit it?
When he clicks Edit button, he must receive dialog box with description.
Please see attached screen capture. I have logged in as ’dad’ user in firefox and ’daisy’ user in Avant and it has allowed me to go into edit mode on the same page at the same time with both users.

Just to confirm this thread, Zi and I tested this yesterday and in fact we were both able to edit the same doc without the lock warning in 0.9.1 on PHP5. en8scl, can you open a bug in the tracker for this so that you can be in on the testing stream... thanks!

A feature. Consider what might happen if your browser locks up and you have to force quit it without properly logging out, for example. It’s a VERY bad practice though to share the same user login.
