Here we go, Doc Finder 1.2 is out and includes a replace function now:

    http://www.modxcms.com/Doc-Finder-Module-1962.html

Finally you can search and replace in the MODx Manager. I don’t know how your day to day work with the Manager looks like but I really missed search and replace wink

You can test Doc Finder online:
    URL: http://docfinder.trymodx.com/manager/
    Login: demo_user / demo_user

Please send me your feedback if you detect any bugs or problems.

    Thanks,
    Bogdan

      Important Update:

There have been some bugs in the 1.2 version of Doc Finder which I fixed now. Please update to Doc Finder 1.2.1 especially if you use the new replace function.

      Thanks,
      Bogdan

Find/Replace is a very cool tool, I recently spent hours replacing phrases in a site. I can’t wait to give this a test. grin

@the core team: please integrate this in the next release enhancing the built-in search function because of I’m missing this:
            - See the position of the document in the document tree

Nothing will ever prohibit you from installing this into your sites though so I fail to see how core integration is a limiting factor. If you’re talking about convenience, well that’s another issue entirely. You likely will see far more Doc Finder releases in the coming months than you will MODx releases ... the thing is seriously cool and at it’s early phases of it’s development and release life-cycle.

What I mean is: often I check the pages my clients producing if they are new and unskilled in MODx. Sometimes I use the system info, sometimes the user protocol.

When I get the list of documents edited by client I can click an icon or a link to get this document. It would be more convenient in sites with lots of pages getting an additional information where this document is located in the tree. Like a page trail or so. Sometimes it’s difficult to find the document’s parent folder.

For all other purposes the Doc Finder is excellent.

Sorry zi, I’m confused. Where is the "Show document Branch"? In MODx manager -> web site -> search? Or what do you mean? Can’t find this feature.
