SOLVED - I called the hosting company and got them to remove ’magic quotes’ from their php settings.
I’ve never come across this before but this site is being hosted with a service provider I have never used before (client-driven).
I am just starting up with this new site and have copied and pasted the HTML code for my Home Page template. I started to cut it up into chunks when I noticed that on each save, MODx is adding slashes in front of quotation marks. On the first save, it adds 1 slash, on the next save it adds another 2 and on the next save it adds another 4 etc.!!! I have only come across something like that before within TinyMCE, but not where I am working with templates and chunks, i.e. no rich-text editor involved.
Could this have to do with some setting on the host server? Help!!!
Someone else asked the same question last year but without replies.

Hopefully someone can help this time around. Very appreciated!
