Hello!

Great Thread , bud i don’t understand all ...
(sorry for my english)
I have this problem:

in my domain (puschpull.org) have three installation of MODx (1.02)
first - root of puschpull.org ( http://puschpull.org or http://www.puschpull.org )
second - folder puschpull.org/rs/ ( http://puschpull.org/rs/ or http://www.puschpull.org/rs/ )
and three in subdomain - modx.puschpull.org ( http://modx.puschpull.org )

Question: is better one installation and one administration this three domains (puschpull.org | puschpull.org/rs | modx.puschpull.org)
or one installation for one domain/subdomain (like: puschpull.org subdomain1.puschpull.org subdomain2.puschpull.org subdomain3.puschpull.org subdomain4.puschpull.org ...)
or one installation for all domain/subdomain (like: puschpull.org subdomain1.puschpull.org subdomain2.puschpull.org subdomain3.puschpull.org subdomain4.puschpull.org ...)

In this time have i for example problem (modx.puschpull.org):
administration modx / configuration / save ---- and browser read adress ( puschpull.org/manager ) ! correctly is adress ( modx.puschpull.org/manager/.... )

Hello there.

We got the multi domain issue working (sort of) after a lot of hacking.

However there is an issue.

When we add hyperlinks in pages to the parent domain and type in the full URL of the parent domain, it will always save the domain as:

undefined

in the hyperlink.

So,

Some domain
becomes
Some domain

Of course you can’t use [~1~] because the plugin assumes [~1~] lives on the domain you are on.

I have a short-term solution for this problem

Solution 1: Do not use RichText

When you want to write links to the parent domain switch the settings to RichText=No and edit the document as required.

Solution 2: Use a chunk.

The chunk should be the full domain you want to point to. This allows you to keep the RichText Editor.

Could the author of this plugin review the RTE and provide a solution so that it saves the parent website URL and not save it as "undefined"?

Many thanks .

Why is the German MODx site not allowing to visit the instructions page referenced in this forum thread??

Many external links on this forum site don’t work, sigh...

Would someone please provide a working link to the German MODx site instructions??

Thank you, Tom

Hi,

I’ve got the following issue: I followed the walk through and so far it works for me, but there’s one problem: after pressing the "save"-button in QuickManager front end, the system doesn’t show the page I’ve been working on. It seems it doesn’t know what todo about "http://www.mydomain.com/index.php?id=5" for instance. Does anybody else share the same experience? Does multiple domains in conjunction with QuickManager work in general? Any hints?
Thanks a lot!

hmm. May be it’s a .htaccess issue?

Hi Andrey, I suppose you don’t face the same problem? In the meantime, I had set up a fresh and vanilla test installation of modx-1.0.2 and did everything described in this thread again. The problem arises again sad This is my .htaccess:

Options +FollowSymlinks
RewriteEngine On

We have noticed a problem. Users can still get to the alias’d page.

We have a website:
some-example.co.uk

We have a domain
> xyz.co.uk

which maps to:
> some-example.co.uk/xyz-co-uk/

The problem is that both search engines and users can visit:

some-example.co.uk/xyz-co-uk/

This is causing problems in Google analytics and can cause in images, etc being broken.

Question > How do I make it so that some-example.co.uk/xyz-co-uk/ really routes to xyz.co.uk

Many thanks.

I have posted a cut down version of the htaccess file. Paths changed for security purposes.

The situation:

We have a website:
www.example2travel.co.uk

We create a custom domain:

www.example2spain.co.uk

Which maps to:

www.example2travel.co.uk/example2spain-co-uk

The problem:

A user or search engine can still visit:

www.example2travel.co.uk/example2spain-co-uk

We want to prevent this from happening and make it so that

www.example2travel.co.uk/example2spain-co-uk

goes to:

www.example2spain.co.uk

Here is the htaccess file:

Options +FollowSymlinks
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
