    Hi,

I am working on a website at the moment which has around 10 Templates for different types of pages, is it possible when creating a new manager user such as news editor that I could set their default template to the news template for any new documents created?

Ideally it would be great if we could set permissions on templates and MODx could then hide the template options which the current logged in user does not have access to.

    Thanks Aaron.

    • You can set documents to automatically use their parent’s template, then give the news editor users only access to the news pages. If all the news documents are kept under a folder with the desired template, then all the news pages will have the news template. Other than that, templates are associated with documents, not users.

The ManagerManager module may have something useful in this regard as well, but I’m not all that familiar with what it can and cannot do.
