$basePath = $modx->config[’base_path’];
include $basePath . "manager/help/$v";

Sorry that did not resolve it. I found out the server is running with php in safe mode so it may be an issue related ownership issues. Don’t worry about it, thanks

Just to let everyone know; this is now a part of MODx Evo. Just create the files you want in the assets/templates/help directory. View the existing default help overview file to see the general format.
