Brief Description:
Textile Parser for MODx

Hello all.
Anybody notice that putting something like :

Will generate this:

Also, unrelated to this, but perhaps from the same root issue: It seems impossible to add a class to a link. Bug or just me being dumb?
Thanks all.

I think you need to look for textile syntax, http://textism.com/tools/textile/

Thanks for that link, zi. I’d been going off of this page, which seems to suggest that the <div> in my first example should not be wrapped in <p> tags. Find on the page the phrase "HTML in Textile" and check it out. Is that reference page incorrect, or am I just missing the boat here?

Also, any ideas for how to give a link a class? This page has examples that don’t work in the plugin or in the Textism link, and there doesn’t seem to be much help on the Textpattern forum for it either...

Brett, honestly I never used Textile very much myself , I hope David can help you, if you tried the above methods in MODx, and its wrapping the <div> tag in <p> tags then I guess its not supported, or I could be wrong.

Good luck.

Or try updating textile parser:

Thanks Zi,
I’ll give it a go and update this thread if I have any success.

I just want to say thank you, xwisdom. Textile is more reliable then tinyMCE, easy to use, fast, easy to modify (for example correct quotation marks). I like it.

its a pity it deletes all cyrillic characters. I tried to fix that but with no success.

Can anybody help?

I made a plugin for Textile 2.0, based on the plugin from Raymond Irving. Is there any interest to publish that, and if so, as a new separate plugin or as a new release to the existing Textile Parser 1.0 plugin?
