    Hi there,

I just ran into a problem while trying to integrate some of the SMF (www.simplemachines.org) ssi.php functions into my modx-system.

One just has to include the "ssi.php" file (before any other browser output) and afterwards by calling the included functions for example by "ssi_login()" you can "insert" specific elements of the forum system outside the forum itself.

When I´m including the ssi.php file directly in my main template by typing <?php include(’forum/ssi.php’) ?> I get no error messages, but also no output of the ssi-funtions...

Does anyone has similar experiences or a tip for me? smiley

    Greetings,
    Karsten

AFAIK you need to include that file in snippet, and call that snippet in document.

      *DIRECT* includes are not allowed.

FYI, there seems to be an conflict between SMF’s SSI and MODx’s snippet parser, so for the "Recent Topics" thing on the front page of modxcms.com I did the following.

Created a new php that contained all of the SSI include and all SSI directives I needed.

Called that page in a modx snippet via file-get-contents and returned it to the browser via a return statement.

totally forgot about that kind of usage for MODx. basically same thing as developing a new design by calling an outside page ... yes?
