Thought I’d give Login a go to see if it could do what I want and I’m a little bit embarassed about this question!
I have downlaoded the package as I’ve done with other MODX ones in the past, but can’t work out what to do as there are no obvious snippets / templates etc or recognisable files - should I copy the folder to assets/ snippets and then in manager create a snippet copying and pasting the code from manifest.php?
Sorry for the stupid question

Login is a Revo package - sounds like you’re using Evo.
In Revo you need to install it using the Package manager, which unzips it, puts files in the right place, sets up any custom dbs required and installs all snippets/chunks into the system
