open Modal WebLogin when the user tries to enter a protected page

Hi there,

i would like to make a modal WebLogin on a site, and i’m not sure how to get there...

activating a modal login by clicking on a "Login"-link somewhere seems to be easy, but i try to open a modal Login when the user clicks on a menu-button that leads to a protected page. the modal login would open, he fills in his login details, and will then be redirected to his page.

has anybody accomplished something like this and/or can point me in the right direction?

i probably need to create a plugin that runs on "OnPageUnauthorized" then activates a link to open a hidden div in a lightbox, or displays a modx-page with the login-form...does anyone know a similar plugin that i could tweak for my needs?
