Hey guys, I have a question.
When I read through some of the posts on the site, I was under the impression you could use Modx to manage an existing static site. Did I misunderstand? Is this possible?

The thing is, the site is done. I was just trying to find an easy open source CMS for a client with no html experience to maintain their own site.

    This is the site: http://www.belamari.com/index2.html
    • There is a feature that can import existing static HTML pages into the MODx structure. The actual content of a MODx web page is stored in the database, however, and is inserted into an HTML template, which is also stored in the database.

So it basically wouldn’t work with the layout I have?

With a little bit of porting, it should work well. That’s one of the things I appreciate the most about MODx.
          • Yes, it should work; I was just pointing out that it doesn’t use files for storing the HTML templates or the page content, as a "static" site does.

Ok, guys thanks for the input. I’ll see if I can figure this thing out. Just wanted to know if I was on the right track.

I apologize for getting off topic. Just thought I’d pose the question while I still had your attention on the other topic. Some support forums take days to get a response so I got a little excited with the attention.
