The only thing that gets validated at this point is the email address (if it is a required field) against a regexp. I spent several hours trying to get a MX record check to work but got nothing but heartache. I will try that again later. For now, just regexp.

Well, I have been working my ass of on this thing. I think I finally have all the feature requests in. There is a a working example of WebLoginPE 1.2.0 at the demo site. I have some work to do on the documentation, but as soon as that is set (later tonight?) I will post it in the repository.

The demo site has quite a few pages calling WebLoginPE. Each of those pages has a box at the top of the page explaining the WebLoginPE snippet call and any custom (non-standard) templates used.

I tried to use customized templates and snippet calls on several of the pages just to show what is possible with this snippet. Of course, if you want, it works right out of the box. You could just call [!WebLoginPE!] in your page and you would have a full user management page ready to go.

It looks like maybe you are trying to run it on PHP 4.x. WebLoginPE will only run under php5 or above.

Short answer... No.
Someone could go through the Class and remove all the php5 syntax (in every instance variable and method), an the go through each method and remove/replace all php5 only functions/syntax. At that point, it might still work, but I cannot promise that.

PHP 4 support is something I will most likely work on, but I want to get WebLoginPE to a point where most features are implemented and most bugs are fixed.

How buggy (or bug free) is WebLoginPE at this point? How easy is it to upgrade from one release to the next?

Recently I’ve been searching high and low for a snippet (or combo of snippets) that will do exactly what WebLoginPE does for a client site -- but I’d obviously need the solution I implement to be both stable and easily-maintainable before I add it to the production site.

For the first week or so there was a lot of internal changes. Mostly feature requests from the community.
The login/logout/register/profile functions all work the same as they did from my first release. being object oriented, I can modify the class without affecting (or minimally affecting) the API so upgrading is a snap. Just upload and overwrite webloginpe.class.php and copy/paste the snippet code in the manager.

I ditched all the PHP5 specific stuff tonight, but the good news is I have tested in PHP4 and all the services seem to work.
I am going to need another day to re-document, but, if anyone is interested, it should be in the repository tomorrow evening.
