How to set a default value for Parent with Form Customisation?

I’m trying to set a default value for the ’Parent Resource’ field using Form Customisation.

It isn’t listed in the Available Fields at http://rtfm.modx.com/display/revolution20/FC-Resource, but I thought maybe I could just set a default value for ’parent’ in the ’modx-panel-resource’ container using the Field Default Value rule and set the value to the ID of the resource I want to set as the default parent.

Unfortunately this doesn’t work, either for resource/create or resource/update. The Parent Resource field remains at either 0, for new resources, or the old parent for existing resources.

Is there another way around this, or a reason why this way doesn’t work?
