Forgive the basic questions but i’m overwhelmed. I hope someone can give me some general pointers on how users can manage content.

    Here is my scenario:
    - i have a product based website that i want to allow the owner to be able to add / revise / delete products.

    So far:
    - i have successfully implemented a Web User and allowed a login using Weblogin

    Now i’m stumped:
    - what do i see when i login as a web user - am i supposed to get the retractible gray bar across the top like when i am logged in as a Manager User? (i’m not seeing the gray bar)
    - are either QuickManager+ or ManagerManager what i should use.
    - from where do i call QuickManager+ (i configured the Events per the documentation)

It sounds like you are on the right track. You should see a bar across the top for QM. Are you sure you have the QM plugin installed and activated?

Once the user is logged in, you should be able to navigate to any page and get that grey bar.

You don’t need to call QM, it’s a plugin so it should work automatically once you have the right setup.

You do need a [*content*] either in your template or the content of the page. That area is what will get editted.

Don’t bother with ManagerManager for now. Get a grasp of this other stuff before you customize the manager with managermanager.

Thank you markoj ! Very helpful!

So far no grey bar so i have something incorrect in my setup.

Can the user only edit the Content area? The way i have the pages set up is to use Template Variables to hold the data i want the user to edit. For example, item name, item description, etc.

Can you login into manager first then open web site in separate tab in same browser you should see Quick manager if installed and active?

If you can then you do not have the correct permissions for the user.

Yes, allanb! - if i login to the manager, preview a Resource in a separate tab, i can see the QuickManager+ grey bar at the top of the page.

If i logout of the Manager however (and login as my web user) i don’t get the grey bar.

            Checking the permissions now...

            Back soon.

QuickManager is only available for Manager users

There are a couple of add-ons for that; docAPI is a collection of functions to use in building your own front-end publishing features, pkBlog is an entire publishing application but may require a bit of modification for specific use. The newer more advanced PubKit that pkBlog was originally based on is also now available.

You can also take a look at the system used in the full demo site (best installed with a new installation on a localhost development environment; installing it on an existing site will overwrite any existing content).
