So im exploring a new realm of modx. Web and Manager users. I am using Evolution 1.0.4. I am working on a website that will require roughly 120 people to have both manager access AND web user access. I have a few issues. First of all, i really dont want them each to have 2 separate logins. Is there a way to make one set of login info that gives them access to both? Also, each user will also need a profile (similar to facebook but less complex). Basically I need to know if I have two manager users (person 1 and person 2), if person 1 logs into the manager, can i make it so that person 1 can only edit person 1’s info? person 1 should not be able to edit person 2’s info.
I was thinking if a make one page for each member that will hold that members info (photo, basic information, etc). and then somehow give each person access to their respective page only, it could work. I will also need a way to list all the users on a page (kinda like a friends list).
If anyone has any suggestions on the best way to go about this, please let me know. Id really appreciate it!
There is a snippet around somewhere that synchronizes the logins but you still have two separate users for each user.
You might better spend the time switching to MODx Revolution where there are no "Web Users" and "Manager Users" -- just users.
thanks for that feedback. unfortunately i cannot upgrade to revolution for various reasons involving the client. any ideas on how i can make member profile pages that only that respective member can edit?
