I’ve built a site for a client, and use WebLogin to allow the user to login, and see a protected page. I’ve set up a web user and resource group so that the associated web user can login and see this protected page.
I’m having a few issues though. When I type the protected page URL into the browser, nothing happens. It just stays on the home page. Before I transferred to the clients server, a password box would pop up, but the username and password I created for the web user wouldn’t work.
I now need to move on and create some more protected areas, and allow for uploads and downloads in these areas, and seeing as I’m having issues with WebLogin, I was wondering if WebLoginPE might be the best way to go?
Thanks

No, WebLoginPE offers a lot more features, but it works in the same basic way, using web user groups to assign web users to, and associated document groups to assign documents (resources) to. If you can’t get WebLogin to work, then you won’t get WebLoginPE to work either.
1. go to Security -> Web Permissions.
2. create a Web User Group in the first tab.
3. create a Document Group in the second tab.
4. connect the two in the third tab.
5. go to security -> Web Users.
6. create/edit your web users, and assign them to the Web User Group you created.
7. create/edit your "private" documents and assign them to the Document Group you created.
You can make a login page and set that to be your "Unauthorized" page in Tools -> Configuration.
