    Hey Guys-
Attempting to launch our site using MODx, and I’m running into some SMTP issues.

Basically, when a user fills out their sign up form, the form completes successfully and indicates that they should receive an email with their settings, but no email is received.

My SMTP Server requires authentication. I have modified the class.phpmailer.php and the eform.inc.php file with the same settings. After updating both of these files, I receive email when I use the "Forgot My Password" link in the Manager section, but I can’t seem to get the same forms to work from the public side of the site.

Do the public side forms use a different set of forms then class.phpmailer.php and eform.inc.php?

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

Ok, well after some digging, it looks like I found a solution to my problem. For others who are in a similar boat to me, here was the solution.

If you look in the WebLogin snippet located in /assets/snippets/weblogin you will find a series of files. The main file I modified was weblogin.common.inc.php. You will want to look for calls to the mail() command in this file. You will want to update these calls with your authentication parameters as detailed on the following page http://email.about.com/od/emailprogrammingtips/qt/PHP_Email_SMTP_Authentication.htm.

As a note, I am running MODx v1.0.2

Hope this helps someone else in the future.
