Hi,
I have a client directory on my server (i,e
http://clients.myWeb.com) and want to have web users (set up in modx) directed to their relevant page rather than to a page ID within modx...is this possible?
The client pages could also be on another URL too so i’d like to be able to control the page the users will be taken too.
Thanks for any help

When you create a user, you can assign them a page to go to on login. Make a weblink document that contains the URL you want the user to go to, and assign him that weblink document as his login page.
Hi Susan,
Thanks for your reply.
Can i just clarify...so i have my Clients folder in the document tree and in that create another document that just contains a web-link. I assign the user this weblink page ID and they have to then click on the link from that page.
Is that correct?
I had thought about doing it this way but wondered if there was a way for the user to be directed immediately to a page outside of modx rather than to a page that then redirects them.
Cheers

No. A weblink is a different kind of document. It is never displayed; it serves as a placeholder for a URL and forwards to that URL. Instead of a large content field, it has a one-line field to enter a URL (or a document ID if it’s a link to an internal MODx document). Create a weblink with its URL pointing to the external page where you want the user to go. Take note of its ID, and use that ID for the user’s login page. The weblink will automatically redirect the user to its URL. So when the user logs in, he’ll be sent to the external page you want.
Hi,
Thanks for the explanantion, i sort of knew what you meant but just couldn’t find the weblink option in the manager...anyway i’ve now found it by right clicking on the file in the document tree and it all makes sense.
Cheers for taking the time to respond.

Last menu option in the Site submenu; also the fourth icon from the left in the Document Tree toolbar (chain link with a + sign)
