Set default file management folder based on user role?

I want to make sure that my page authors don’t upload files (like PDFs) to the wrong place. Is there a way to specify the default folder for certain roles in the file manager (e.g., /assets/files/)?

Kind of the way the FCK editor defaults to /assets/images when you do an image upload.

You can control the file access of each user in the user’s profile page, in the User tab, the File Manager Path field.
