Sorry if this is listed somewhere, I could not find it

I am developing a site that will have ten sections. There are quite a lot of images and I would like to ideally store these images in seperate directories, allowing the user to upload their local images to one of these directories that is appropiate. It would also be great if I could then set that image directory as the default for the parent folder when a user is editing a page add adding one of these images.

From what I have read images are transfered to the /assets/images folder, so is the above possible or is there a snippet /module that achives this.

Secondly I edited some content and went to add an image (using the editor) but this does not let me change directories and does not seem to be displaying the /assets/images folder images. How do I therefore add an image to the page using my content tag?

Ok I have worked it out (Trouble is as you learn more, previous posts seem pretty basic)

Using the FCKeditor, I see I can upload images and create directories below the images directory providing I dont try to us the upload image tab, instead uploading from the file uplaod option at the bottom of the default image screen.

Glad to hear you got everything figured out.

Yes the upload tab for images is not working. Similar upload features in FCK are also not working. We’ve hidden the tabs for the future releases. I’m not sure if we’re even planning on getting them to work since the resource browser does a pretty good job of uploads already.

          Thanks for that Adam.

Maybe I am being a bit dense, but what is the resource browser?

Actually, I gues you are referring to the manage files option within administration for uploading all files and then just using the FCKeditor for inserting images.

By the way when using FCK editor I have two questions.

            1. I want to float my images left or right rather than use align-left. Can this be achived.
            2. I want to make certain CSS classes available via the editor so users can choose those clases from time to time. I am assuming that if I had a main style sheet linked to my template with all the core layout rules, divs etc and then have a second style sheet with just the classes I want to make available via FCKeditor (This stylesheet also linked in my template) that I would then also link this second style sheet to the editor via interface and editor setting specifiying the Path to CSS option. Is that the correct and best method? (P.S. If I link via this method does it overwriet and CSS rules used in styling the editor interface?)

            Appriciate your feedback

The resource browser is the window that pops up when you click Browse Server. It’s not a very obvious name I know.

I don’t know a lot about this you might want to check out the FCKeditor documentation site. I think you should be able to define styles in the advanced tab of the image properties though.

I believe this can also be done trough an XML file but I’m not completely sure. If you don’t see anything in the fck documentaiton let me know and I’ll see if I can figure it out.

Indeed that can be done via an XML file.

This explains how to edit the file:
