Getting started with WebLogin / WebLoginPE: where are the docs/tutorials?

I need to make part of my website password-protected and accessible only to registered users. Basically all I want is:

• a link on an existing page to a login page
• a login form on that page
• (with a change password/password-reminder facility on the login page)
• then the protected pages, each with a logout link which logs the user back out and takes them to the public part of the site

Then I’ll need an admin section where the administrator can create/delete new user accounts.

Can anyone point me in the direction of a clear, intuitive set of docs or tutorial for achieving this for either the WebLogin or WebLoginPE snippets? I have seen the WebLoginPE site with a list of parameters, but no tutorial or examples. For WebLogin I can find neither of these (there’s not even a WebLogin page in the MODx wiki).

(Please respond even if you don’t know the answer to this. It would be useful to know how many others are in the same boat).

If I where u I’d go for WebLoginPE because u probably are like me and end
up trying to achive thoose functions anyway when you get it going.

If you go with basic WebLogin I’d recommend you to upgrade to version 0.9.6.2 where most
bugs are fixed. Except not neccesary Captcha addition fix - see this:

You can use weblogin call from a page or template. The call goes to FormLogin Chunk.
Where u can put links to pages that u made restricted.

I got it working by stripping out all the confusing bits from the demo MODx site.

You mentioned being able to display links to restricted pages from the FormLogin chunk. Do they have to be placed anywhere in particular in this chunk so that they only display when the correct user is logged in?
