    Hey there!

    I read in the documentation on this site that there is a TV named [*introtext*] that stores the description of the page currently being displayed. The problemm is that it didn’t work for me (I used it in a template that I designed myself). The fact is that other TV-s worked, for example [*content*] or [*pagetitle*].

    Any ideas ?

      It does not display the description. It displays the "Summary" field. [*description*] would display the description field.

        Oh... sorry...
        Is there a page where I could find all the default TV-s?

          The best place for page-specific TV possibilities is the "site_content" table in the database. If you look in the setup.sql file in the Install folder you’ll find the definition of that table. Of course, many of those aren’t of much value as far as displaying on a page goes, but many of them could be useful. These values can be accessed in a script through the $modx->documentObject[’value’] array.

          For site-wide variables - [(site_name)], [(site_start)], [(emailsender)] and so forth the values in the system_settings table are available. This table’s structure does not reflect the available values, they are created dynamically. These values are also available programmatically through the $modx->config[’site_name’] array.

            Thanks!

            Umm, and if I would be looking for details about the currently-browsing user (currently logged-on user) of a page, how could I find them? I mean... I would like details like: username, user rank... e-mail mabey.

            What PHP commands could I use ?

            I found an API Quick Reference. Are those commands called like this?

            $modx->command_name()
            ??

            Is teher a location where I can find the full API reference? (where I can find the whole structure of $modx) ?

              Yes, commands are called like that. AFAIK there is no full API reference ATM.

                The entire class definition ia in the /manager/includes/document.parser.class.inc.php file.
