sorry for what is probably a very lame question but .....

I installed my local version and started to add my own bits for use as my test space .... and now have installed a live test version on a hosted server ... with the installation site that came with it...

Am i correct in thinking that once i’m happy with my local site I just need to upload the folder at assets/site (inc css / images / snippets etc) for everything to go live and overwrite the pre-installed version huh

    just thinking ahead ...

    thanks in advance

Weldo, take a look at this thread --> http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,1417.msg9467.html#msg9467

This should provide some insight into the tasks necessary for moving a deployment from local to remote server. In your case, you’ve already copied most of the resource up to the remote server, and will just need to drop the tables in your remote DB, add the dump of tables from your local DB to the remote DB, and upload anything else that you changed in the /assets/ directory.

NOTE: You’ll probably want to clear the site cache on the remote deployment once you upload your added/modified resources in /assets/ and replace the remote DB to get the cache back in sync with your redeployed site.

      Hope that helps...
