Moving an image in the editor changes it's path

Can anyone confirm this for me, just to eliminate my installs from being the issue.

With path re-write enabled.
Using the FCKeditor.
Create/edit a document.
Insert an image into a document with existing text.
Save the document. Image appears fine in the browser.
Edit the document, drag the image to another part of the document to change the anchor position.
Save the document.
The path to the image now is now incorrect. Check the page from the front end, and the ’assets’ part of the path has been removed.

Works fine for me, although I am using Image Re-write as well.

Tied in FireFox 1.0.7 and IE 6.0

Strange. In mine, the path changes from an absolute path to a relative one. The URL in the image properties changes from ’http://mydomain/assets/images/pic.jpg’ to ’../../../images/pic.jpg’.

The only way to fix it is to re-select the image on the server, which changes the path back to an absolute path. Could it be image path re-write isn’t working correctly?

All alias path functions aren’t working rock solid in my book...

Does it display in the Resource Browser if you go back and look at it or is it showing a broken image placeholder?

Same here. It looks to me like the path is being rewritten relative to the FCK script rather than the page file.

Yea, thats what I was thinking. Thought you mught be able to check this by seeing if the image is correctly shown in the Resource Browser?

More information for you guys... I was checking it again this morning to reply to your post earlier, and it worked. I thought I was going mad! The paths remained correct.

Then I realised. I was using Firefox last night, IE this morning. I proceeded to tested it again in Firefox 1.0.7, and it messed up. A Firefox bug ?

You only have to look at the image properties in the editor after the anchor move to see the new altered path.

And in answer to your question, I’ve tried the parent directory and image with CHMOD 644, 755 and 777, this seems to have no effect on the problem. The thumbnails appear fine with the more relaxed permissions on the directory.

Perhaps a browser cache is involved in this somehow?

I’ve cleared the cache in Firefox, and no change.
