Hi all. getResources is such an awesome snippet. Thanks a lot for the great work done on it.

Has anyone used getResources inside a wrapper snippet to filter results (for example using where conditions) through the front-end of a website?

I think this would make for a great tutorial, as there are many cases (like a product listing, or project listing) where it’d be great if you could filter by date, category or some other TV value (as is supported by getResources) using drop-downs, select boxes, and input values.

I am working on trying to get something like this working myself and will post information when I can get it working, but everyone else please feel free to contribute to this thread if you have done something similar.

    :D

      Hi "1pxrgba",

I happen to know that the creator of AjaxSearch is currently developing an advanced search extra for Revolution. It includes TV-filtering possibilities as well.

And yeah, I agree, a snippet like that could be very, very valuable!

        Hi Martijn van Turnhout,

Thanks for mentioning this, that is great news!!! smiley

Here is one example to show people viewing this thread on how it can be potentially used on a site.

        http://www.waterworks.com/products/fittings/faucet/136

In this case the site uses some nice javascript for the drop down menu’s also which is a nice touch.

I know what you mean! Check out this page of the Ajaxsearch site: http://www.modx.wangba.fr/index.php?id=153 and browse through the submenu at the left side while you’re at it. Filter search is what Revolution really needs at the moment to be a real flexible CMF, in my opinion.

I've implemented Brunauds AdvSearch as you have suggested on a few sites. Works an absolute treat. Have used it for searching in tv's and also used it with custom tables.
This is most definitely the way to go in my opinion. It's very simple to set up.

Alternatively if you just need to display different results from a custom table on different resources you could go with http://rtfm.modx.com/display/ADDON/Rowboat and that will allow you to do where searches in different fields etc.
