    I have created 3 pages in my Modx CMS learning system. All are working fine.

    When I go to edit a variable or indeed use the quick editor in my browser (as the administrator of the website), as soon as I select it I am returned to the initial page. This is the Modx CMS install successful page and my pages are below this (which is a folder). I notice that if I mouse over the edit button, the link in the bottom left of my browser window is always http://127.0.0.1/# no matter what page I am on.

    I think I am being stupid again but I am not clear if there is something you need to set on the editor for each page I create to stop this incorrect action

    My pages use different templates but that makes no difference

    thanks

      I believe that this behaior has been changed in the upcoming 0.9.1 release. Until then, maybe Adam can post a fix.

        Thanks Ryan

        I have created a new page from scratch with a new template, this one is not going back to the default home page when I edit(Dont really know why) but I only have the main editor with all the options when viewing the page, not the quick editor. I have [*content*] added to my template and I can edit the content with the main editor (with all the options). Still need to work out what else I add in the template to display the quick editor?

          Sorry, I meant to say its the "edit content" editor not being displayed, the quick editor (the one with the drop down list is the one I have on my page (See post above)

            In your new template, did you use [*#content*], or just [*content*]?

                I don’t know about the QuickEdit sending you to the home page; I don’t use it a lot, but when I do it always just refreshes the page I’m working on.

                  I dont know either but its not happening of pages /templates I have created from scratch, mabe something was coppied on the other pages where I was using the same template

                  Susuan, I wonder its its worth adding a para to the documentation. On this page http://modxcms.com/adding-tags.html Where is says

                  "The next thing we want to do is have the document’s content appear in the main part of our page. Add the "[*content*]" tag where the content should appear:
                  <div id="content">
                  <h1>[*longtitle*]</h1>
                  [*content*]
                  </div>

                  I think its is worth pointing out the difference between [*content*] and [*#content*] in this section in that the edit content button only works when # is used, but without it you can still use the quick editor. May save another newbie some time

                  Thanks again
