Are there any interfaces to extend Quip in a clean way?

Hi!

I need to collect additional information for comments. This information need to be linked to the posted comment (to the affected row in the database of the newly created comment). Does Quip provided any interfaces which could be used to do that? I don’t like to change the code of Quip because then I won’t be able to updated the package easily in future. I’m thinking of something like pre- and postHooks as it can be used with the FormIt snippet.
