Jot issues in Internet Explorer 6

I have been battling an issue with the Jot snippet 1.1.4 and Internet Explorer 6 (and 5.5). When calling on a cached page with the snippet uncached [!Jot!] it causes a "Internet Explorer cannot open the Internet Site Operation aborted" error. Normally this points to a javascript but I haven’t been able to make it go away unless I call Jot as cached [[Jot]] but if I do that on a cached page it doesn’t work correctly.

Has anyone else encountered this?

Note we did not have this error until upgrading so I could probably just downgrade but I’d rather not. I am half tempted to say to heck with IE6 users, it is their own fault for still using it.
