A warm hello from Austria!
I was searching for a CMS designed for easiest user content creation. Somehow I found opensourcecms.com, tried every portal and chose to use the unbelievable MODx. Wonderful work, dudes!
But I ran into some sort of problem:
We’re planning to create a portal for musicians and artists in general, and there will be a lot of users and different pages with different permissions in different folders on the page. So far, so good, easy to manage, easy to work with.
Then I thought about creating folder & page templates as an additional service to our fellows. And this is where it’s getting a bit complicated. I’ve created an unpublished folder as a working template for our beginners to start from, and I want to duplicate the folder, rename it, and assign permissions for a group to the folder and all subfolders and documents at once.
Searching the forums didn’t help, sorry. €dit: And testing the new TP3.2 didn’t help either.
Until now, I haven’t found any easy working solution without hacking the database itself or setting each and every document and folder to the new "owner". It’s not that bad, if you start from scratch, but if there are about 20 pages per artist, this is really hard and long work.
Maybe anyone here has some clues how to accomplish this (usually simple) task.
Best regards
