Mixture of getting things wrong - first off I thought only Manager Users could moderate so I was creating new Managers and then assigning them to a group :’(
So created a new webuser and assigned them to the group Site Admins and now an email notification is sent:
Dear Blog,
A new reply has been posted to a topic you are moderating.

I also went for overkill on the email notification by setting up the document author to get an email as well

And also now the web user Blog can login in through the front end and not the manager frontend and publish / delete the comments
so the final code that works is
[!Jot? &captcha=`2` &moderated=`1` ¬ify=`2` ¬ifyAuthor=`1` &canmoderate=`Site Admins` &customfields=`name,email` &validate=`name:Please enter your name,email:Please enter a valid e-mail address` &subscribe=`1` &pagination=`5` &placeholders=`1` &output=`0` !]

Readers Comments

You too can add a comment at the bottom of this page
