    Hello!

    I spent most of today learning Jot, and have managed to figure out everything but one thing! I’m a front-end developer so, I’m pretty excited I got as much as I did figured out!

    I have customized Jot to act as a restaurant menu generation system for one of my clients. The one feature that I haven’t yet figured out is categories.

    I have menu items that will fall into different categories such as "Entree, Salad, Side Dish, etc". Up to this point, my form has only included "title, description, and price". This works like a charm, and will list one long list of items..but I’d like to be able to separate the food items by category.

    The way I have (unsuccessfully) attempted to accomplish this is by creating a drop down menu in my form template with a category selection. (See below)

    		<label for="title[+jot.id+]">Category:<br />
    			<select id="Category" name="Category">
    				<option value="[+form.field.tagId=`entr`+]">Entree</option>
    				<option value="[+form.field.tagId=`brgr`+]">Burger</option>
    				<option value="[+form.field.tagId=`entr`+]">Sandwich</option>
    				<option value="[+form.field.tagId=`sld`+]">Salad</option>
    				<option value="[+form.field.tagId=`app`+]">Appetizer</option>
    				<option value="[+form.field.tagId=`sdd`+]">Side</option>
    			</select>
    		</label>

    and then in the document doing: (condensed for your ease of viewing)

    		<h3>Entrees</h3>
    		<ul>
    			[!Jot? &customfields=`title,description,price` &tplForm=`menutplForm2` &tplComments=`menutplComments` &tplModerate=`menutplMod` &canpost=`Site Admins` &canedit=`Site Admins` &canmoderate=`Site Admins` &validate=`title,description,price` &tagId=`entr` &output=`0` &placeholders=`1` !]
    			[+jot.html.comments.entr+]
    		</ul>

    		<h3>Side Dishes</h3>
    		<ul>
    			[!Jot? &customfields=`title,description,price` &tplForm=`menutplForm2` &tplComments=`menutplComments` &tplModerate=`menutplMod` &canpost=`Site Admins` &canedit=`Site Admins` &canmoderate=`Site Admins` &validate=`title,description,price` &tagId=`sdd` &output=`0` &placeholders=`1` !]
    			[+jot.html.comments.sdd+]
    		</ul>
    		[+jot.html.comments+]
    		[+jot.html.moderate+]
    		[+jot.html.form+]
    		[+jot.html.navigation+]

    I’m quite obviously not doing something right which doesn’t surprise me. Is what I’m trying to do possible to accomplish? Am I even remotely close to the properly achieving this? I could really use some advise. smiley

    I sincerely appreciate any help!

    Thanks in advance!
