For relevance searching to work, the words searched for need to be at least 4 characters long. So for instance a search for: "Ian has a red hat" will turn up nothing.
My initial test search was of 3 letters - it DOES yield in ’manager’ but does NOT - in ’FlexSearchForm’. Now i tested with more letters, providently making sure the word exists - to NO result.

Also, I can’t emphasize enough that your search results page CANNOT be cached. I’ve seen that throw more people off than any other "config" error. I hope that’s the problem because it’s an easy fix
I checked it several times - it is right. To forestall another advice - i did checked ’searchable’ chechbox too, and it’s OK too.
Maybe, some action need to be taken to enable search, like indexing or enabling full-text index ? Or is it done by default/automagically ?
I just looked up (in PhpMyAdmin) for ’full-text index’ property of ’modx-site-content’ table, ’content’ field. It seems to be enabled. What else can be wrong ?
IT SOLVED !!! By re-creating full-text index of that table/field - icon click in PhpMyAdmin, resultiing in the following SQL query:
ALTER TABLE `modx_site_content` ADD FULLTEXT ( `content` )
Please add the solution (index update) into page editing routines - i don’t dare to edit the code i don’t know by heart
P.S. But anyway, English non-flexive search is of little to zero use in the Russian flexive language ;(( And it doesn’t find partials (request ’profit’ does not see word ’profitable’).
