How to download without a browser

How do I download the MODx tar file without a browser? Since we are required to be logged in before downloading a file, a regular ftp or wget download will fail? I may be mistaken, but I think most large servers are administered via a command line shell. If there isn’t a way to download via a command line, you might be limiting the number of sites that can use MODx.

Do you know lynx? It’s a text (terminal) based web browser. If you have ssh-access lynx might work for you.

You can always login, get your development copy, and put it on any server accessible to your command line FTP or SSH download methods.
