I have set up my Jot snippet so that all comments are moderated. I also allowed subscription notifications to allow people to be alerted if a reply was posted.
However, I have just found that these subscription notification emails are being sent before the comment is moderated and ’published’.
This is leading to the situation where a user clicks notification message link to look at the new comment, but finds nothing there, because the Moderator has not yet approved the new comment.
Is there a way of delaying the subscription notification until the moderation process is complete? Or am I missing something?
FYI, my Jot call is:
[!Jot? &subscribe=`1` &moderated=`1` ¬ify=`2` &canpost=`Blog Admins,Commentators,Fellow,Staff` &canedit=`Blog Admins,Commentators,Fellow,Staff` &bw=`1` &customfields=`name,email` &sortby=`createdon:a` &pagination=`0` &trusted=`Site Admins` &canmoderate=`Site Admins` &badwords=`{{badwordschunk}}` &subjectSubscribe=`New comment posted to XYZ Website` &subjectModerate=`Moderation required for new comment posted to XYZ Website` ¬ifyAuthor=`1` &subjectAuthor=`New comment about your posting on the XYZ Website` !]
Many thanks,
iain.
Jot snippet behaves properly while sending notifications to subscribers -- it sends an email to a subscriber after the comment has been approved and published (I have checked it in snippet’s code). I guess that your subscribers receive notifications before the moment of the publication because they also are either authors or moderators. (You have notifyAuthor turned on -- Jot sends notification to the author regardless of the comment’s publication status.)
