    Hi,

My Jot call is as follows:

    [[Jot? &paginate=`10` &moderated=`1` &subscribe=`0` &validate=`name:Please enter your name,email:Please enter your email address,content:You forgot to enter a comment`]]

I have a single administrator "manager" user. However, when I am logged in to that account and viewing a blog page, I do not see the moderator chunk in the Jot forms - I just see the regular form. Consequently I cannot approve posts.

Is a web user required for any kind of moderation? The wiki makes several references to "moderation by a manager."

    Thanks,

    Aaron

      Try adding
      &canmoderate=`Site Admins`

      to your snippet call.

        Hello again,

Quick update: I set up a web user in a group and revised my Jot call to:

        [Jot? &paginate=`10` &moderated=`1` &notify=`1` &canmoderate=`Blog Moderators` &subscribe=`0` &validate=`name:Please enter your name,email:Please enter your email address,content:You forgot to enter a comment`]]

Although this doesn’t answer my question about manager users acting as moderators, it does work part way; but it also revealed a new question.  Now, when I log in as the web user using WebLoginPE, I can see unpublished comments great, and none of the actions take effect.  For instance, if I click "Delete" I receive the js confirmation dialog; but when I confirm, the page reloads without any changes taking effect.

Any ideas about what the cause might be?

        Thanks again,

        Aaron

Sorry bunk58. I didn’t see your response till after I posted my follow-up. Looks like adding
          &canmoderate=`Site Admins`
doesn’t have any effect on the issue - that is, with that setting, if I’m logged in as the single manager user, I still cannot see the moderation chunk on the blog pages.

          Thanks,

          Aaron

Another update for posterity: the second issue I noted, about moderator publish/delete changes to posts not taking effect, turned out to be due to caching.  I had mistakenly fogotten to turn off caching in the page settings and was using the caching snippet call.

Any interactive snippet needs to be called uncached. That way the second time around, when the page is requested and loaded by the form submit, the snippet will run and process the POST.
