    Hello,

    I seem to have been having trouble with my captcha image not loading and actually causing my website to not load very well on following attempts to view the website on the same browser session. Upon closing the browser and opening the site again, it will load fine, until I visit a page that uses the captcha. I’ve tested this on IE7 and Firefox with the same result. I know that captcha used to work, but I unfortunately did not notice the problem until well after I probably made some sort of change to the site. Any thoughts on why it may not be loading? It functions fine on another website I run. Here’s an example: http://www.tvshowmusic.com/test.html

    Thanks for any assistance.

      Captcha needs php gd extension to function.

      How do I get gd to work with PHP?

      Update: please note that PHP may or may not have been updated yet to include support for the GIF and animated GIF features that have been added to gd. See www.php.net for the official word on what is and isn’t standard in PHP’s internal version of gd at this time.

      php 4.3.x is available, and it includes a version of gd as "standard equipment." php_gd2.dll is included in a standard PHP installation for Windows, it’s just not enabled by default. To turn it on, the user may simply uncomment the line "extension=php_gd2.dll" in php.ini and restart the PHP extension. Change:

      #extension=php_gd2.dll

      To:

      extension=php_gd2.dll

      You may also have to correct the extension directory setting from:

      extension_dir = "./"

      Or:

      extension_dir = "./extensions"

      To (FOR WINDOWS):

      extension_dir = "c:/php/extensions" NOTE: SUBSTITUTE THE ACTUAL PHP INSTALLATION DIRECTORY ON *YOUR* COMPUTER.

      EDIT: Iv just now checked your linked web and its captcha-code doesn’t seem to work either!?

        I’m not sure any of that helps me. You may also want to know, which I forgot to mention before, that I’m running ModX 961 with php 5.2.5.

            Go to Reports -> System info, and the phpinfo link. Scan the phpiinfo output to make sure that the GD libraries are included in your PHP.
