I recently got hit with a good chunk (over 600 on one article) of comment spam (that’ll teach me not to enable jot’s captcha "until I really need to!") what is the best way to remove them? Two related questions to clarify:
1. Is it ok to drop the offending content rows in the table modx_jot_content directly? Or will that mess with jot? I don’t want to go around dropping rows if jot is expecting/needs me to use the "delete" button to keep things clean and tidy.
2. It seems that the rows in the table modx_jot_fields don’t get deleted even when their associated comments in modx_jot_content get deleted (using the jot’s "delete" button) is there a way to remove all the modx_jot_fields rows that are no-longer associated with any comments? I’ve got over 3000 rows in that table, and most are from spam comments that I hope to soon have deleted.
I can go through and press delete for each of the comments, but i’d really rather not if it’s ok to drop them directly from the DB.
I’m using Jot 1.3, and looking forward to the backend manager that’s planned in Jot 2.0, thanks for all your hard work bS, Jot is a great tool!
Ok, cool, so you haven’t experienced any ill effects deleting the rows without using Jot?
No problems with Jot, I only used it after I published the ones that weren’t spam.
