    Hi there!
    I got the following Jot calls to output comment posts and comment form:
    [!Jot? &subscribe=`1` &pagination=`10` &notify=`2` &notifyAuthor=`1` &action=`comments` &tplComments=`comment_post` &sortby=`createdon` &numdir=`0`!]
    [!Jot? &tplForm=`comment_form` &action=`form` &captcha=`2` &notify=`2` &notifyAuthor=`1`!]

    No email is sent anywhere when a new comment post appears. I have no usergroups, so I expect to receive notifications as document author. I tried the mail() function by itself and it works okay.

    What could be the problem with notification?

      Does the author have an email address defined anywhere?

      I’ve not used that parameter but I did have problems with notifications. I had assumed the statement about leaving canmoderate unset meant the manager received the notifications. Apparently it doesn’t. I did have to create a web user and a web users groups to receive notifications using the canmoderate parameter.

        hi i’m having this trouble, this is my Comments call:

        <div id="commentsAnchor">
        [!Jot? &customfields=`name,email` &subscribe=`1` &pagination=`4` &badwords=`dotNet` &captcha=`1` &moderated=`1` &notify=`2` &canmoderate=`Site Admins` !]
        </div>

        I used to get notifications to moderate what to publish and what not to, but after transferring to a new website host this no longer works, i don’t get any notifications, though other emails etc from the site work ok

          Hmm . . . did the mailboxes move with the web site? In other words, perhaps one could take a few basic troubleshooting steps. Does the target email account work for other mail? Are there mail error logs to check from the hosting company? Is there any chance the email address for the Site Admins group mangled in transfer and needs to be redefined? Just a few thoughts. Hope it helps - John

            I was having a similar problem, and I’m not sure if this will help, but it looks like I was using the manager user group instead of the web user group to notify. Once I set up a web user and a web user group, everything worked fine. Since you had everything running previously, though, that might not help you.
