I’ve decided to take my old website blog to Jot. I am just posting the old blogs as you would post blogs. There are not a whole lot so this seems to be the best solution. My thing is, how can I change the post date and keep it in the right order.
When I post the old blogs, i first thought why not change the pub date (I had to take out the ’read only’ parameter in the template) to the right dates, but it still showed up as created today on the front page. I changed the template to ’pub_date’ and now it shows a long number (php date?). 2 things I need to work out How to change that long number to a readable date, and will J order the posts by Pub_date. If Jot wont order that way, I can just put the old posts in order before i post new posts, but i’d still have the readable date issue.
I’d try to change the ’createon’ date, but I could only figure that out by changing it in the database and I don’t want to screw anything up in there...
I read through the newspublisher snippet and there you can see where it writes the ’createon’ date...would it be possible to make the createon date a custom placeholder?
Any suggestions on how to make this a better process?
Thanks very much.
Which template did you switch to "pub_date" ?
If it’s Ditto templates, that’s Ok but jot uses a different name for the published date (publishedon in modx_jot_content), so I guess you’ll have to use [tt]&sortby=`publishedon:d`[/tt] in your Jot call.
Depending on which solution you’re migrating from, you can use some simple MySQL queries to import your data from another app (been doing that quite often lately, if you need a hand...).

Ok I’m Dumb, I meant Ditto...
I got most of it figured out now. Just need to make sure Reflect is working with it and then deciding to migrate the comments over or not.
Thanks
