    Even though I have the snippet set for ascending ordering, it counts them descending. They show up in the right order, but lets say there are 9 comments. The first one would show up as #9.

    Also, is there anyway to carry post-counts from multiple posts?

      Try adding this in your Jot call, it should do the trick.
      &sortby=`createdon:a` &numdir=`0`

      In assets/snippets/jot/includes/jot.db.class.inc.php in the getUserPostCount function around Line 179 delete AND uparent = "’.$docid.’"

      Before:
      			$sql = 'SELECT count(id) FROM '.$this->tbl["content"].' WHERE createdby = "'.$userid.'" AND uparent = "'.$docid.'" AND tagid = "' . $tagid . '"';

      After:
      			$sql = 'SELECT count(id) FROM '.$this->tbl["content"].' WHERE createdby = "'.$userid.'"  AND tagid = "' . $tagid . '"';
