    Hi guys

I am installing ModX for just the 2nd time and have encountered this session fail issue. First install went fine first time.
The only difference between now and then is...
1st install I included demo website, 2nd did not
    and
1st install was at root level 2nd install is ww w.root.com/modx/

    any thoughts on this?

ps. I’m drooling at the thought of ModX, love Eto but just needed something more grin

    my setup is like this...
    PHP Version 4.3.11
    Apache/1.3.33 (Unix)
    MySQL 3.23.49

Solved it. take this down if you like but something I’ve never come across so worth noting I suppose.
Installing using Firefox as browser and the password manager offered to update password and I clicked yes. Finally the penny dropped and I tried again saying NO and it let me in (tried a few times and had to go back to 1st install page to get it through!).

Drive you nuts if you’re a newb like me! smiley

astrawally, this does not mean the problem is solved, correct me if I am wrong but I think it’s php.ini related, something to do with sessions being enabled...

I’ve read somewhere that session.auto_start had to be enabled in php.ini ? Can some proficient php user confirm this ?
