Maybe there is an easier way to do what I want.

I want comments to be placed first. Got done with no problem.

Now I am trying to write a snippet that will check the number of responses and depending on the number display a different header ala Wordpress comments. http://2ndmileproductions.com/weddings/6-2-07_coyle.html is one of the pages I want to do this on.

So can I use getPlaceholder inside of a snippet to find out the value of [+jot.nav.total+] which is the placeholder value I assume I would use.

I have the snippet written so it will if the value is 0, nothing will be returned. If 1, "Response" (no s) will be returned. If 2 or more, "Responses". I just need to figure out how to get the value to the snippet.

    Hopefully that makes sense.

Did you find a solution to this?

I too, am desperately trying to discover how I can retrieve a placeholder value (output from ppp in my case), to use within another snippet - I’ve tried getPlaceHolder without success.

If you found a way (or someone knows of one), I’d appreciate knowing how you achieved it.

      Many thanks

Maybe you can use the following:

        [!Jot <your other specific call functions> &action=`count-comments` !]

This will return the value for the number of comments
